Background information
The MK. V was the third production variant of the Centurion to enter service with the British Army.
The Besa machine gun as a coaxial weapon was replaced by a Browning -30 Cal. machine gun replaced.
The rear hatch of the turret fell away without replacement. The turret roof was redesigned and the 2-inch bomb launcher was no longer installed.
An additional stowage bin was placed on the glacis panel.
In this configuration, the Centurion formed the backbone of British armored forces for many years.
In addition, the tanks were continuously adapted to the threat by increasing combat performance.
These were, for example, adding Glacis additional armor and retrofitting a 105mm L6 cannon.
The vehicle was also used by Denmark and the Netherlands, among others.
